| Dear colleagues and friends,
We are honored to be the host of the XXIII International
Symposium on Biomechanics in Sports and cordially invite
you to attend the conference in Beijing, 2005.
Beijing, the capital of the People's Republic of China, a
fast changing city with a history going back 3,000 years,
is an amazing mix of modernization and historical legacy.
It has been the capital of numerous dynasties throughout its
history, including the Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.
There are a good many of world-famous scenic spots and historical
sites: the Great Wall, a symbol of China's ancient civilization
and one of the Seven Wonders of the World; the Forbidden City,
the largest and best-preserved imperial residence in China;
the Summer Palace, one of the most impressive royal gardens
in the world....
Sport biomechanics is one of the important academic areas
in China and, as a very active organization, the China Society
of Sport Biomechanics (CSSB) has been holding its biannual
national conference since its establishment in 1980. We will
surely show our warmest hospitality to all of you who come
from various parts of the world as well as stage a well-organized
forum for exchanging ideas and research achievements in the
field of sport biomechanics.
Dear colleagues and friends, join us on this wonderful occasion
to share your wisdom and experience and to witness the excitement
and energy of an Olympic city marching towards the 2008 Olympic
Games.
We are looking forward to meeting you. Beijing is waiting
for you.
Prof. Dr. Qing WANG
