Prof. Qing WANG
Chairman, China Society of Sport Biomechanics
Chairman, XXIII International Symposium
on Biomechanics in Sports
Dear colleagues and friends, Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is my great pleasure, on behalf of the China Society of
Sport Biomechanics and the Organizing Committee of ISBS-2005,
to announce the 23rd International Symposium on Biomechanics
in Sports to be held in Beijing, China 22 - 27 August, 2005.
Beijing is a modern and historical city, with 6 dynasties
setting their capitals here during its long history of more
than 3000 years. The city is known worldwide for its splendid
cultural heritage, beautiful landscape, and, more importantly,
its warmhearted people. Late August is the most attractive
season for the city to show its charming face and you will
surely enjoy the city's special cultural flavors and beautiful
views.
Now Beijing's preparation for hosting the Olympic Games is
underway. When you come you will witness the historical process
that will leave unique legacies to both China and world sport
as suggested by the IOC. You will certainly be impressed by
the distinctive combination of high-tech sports and traditional
physical exercises like Dao yin, Tai chi and many others.
Beijing is an international trade, communications and meeting
center. You will have excellent transportation, communications,
shopping, accommoda- tion and medical services.
ACCOMMODATION
The Capital Hotel, a four-star hotel, will be the conference
venue and also the accommodation for participants. The hotel
has been chosen to host various international meetings due
to its good services, relatively low prices and convenient

Square and the most famous shopping center in the city. The
hotel will provide you with full services such as airport
car-service, credit card, currency exchange, business, travel
agency and so on. The negotiated cost for a double room is
US$70 per night.
The Beijing Dongjiaominxiang hotel, a three-star hotel near
the Capital Hotel, is also available to the participants.
The cost for a double room is US$52 per night.
The participants can choose where to stay based on their
own needs. However, we strongly recommend the Capital Hotel
to you since it is the most convenient with the best service.
